Well, we blinked and this little girl turned one. It seems like just yesterday I was doing her newborn photos and now she’s a walking, smiling, toddler! Summers are great for warm weather and lovely sunsets, but they can also be challenging for family photography session start times. The rule of thumb is the best light for an outdoor session is the hour or so before sunset. Here in the Twin Cities in the summer? That’s well past 9:00pm! I don’t know too many little ones who can stay up that late but, never fear, the amazing field I use for my Petite Sessions can be used at all hours of the day.

Winter sessions with snow? Cute. Spring sessions with mud and rain? Not cute. Studio session to the rescue! This extended family of 26 people opted for a studio Deluxe Session and it was perfection. The kids were so well behaved and the natural light cooperated like a champ. Best part? No watching the forecast all day!

COVID was (is?) weird, right? These past two plus years have felt like a blur with time both flying by and standing still. By the time these Mother’s Day mini sessions roll around, it will have been almost three years since I had clients in for a studio session!
2022 is looking up and I am so excited to get back to the amazing space so many of you have been to in NE Minneapolis for two different dates this year, Mother’s Day and Christmas.
What: Mother’s Day Studio Mini Sessions
When: Saturday, April 30, 2022
Where: 1621 East Hennepin Ave #130, Minneapolis, MN 55414
Cost: $235 for a 15 minute mini and $285 for a 20 minute mini
Set Up: The studio has natural light, clean white walls, hardwood floors, a couch for family photos, and various stylish, modern chairs for solo kid photos. The Mother’s Day Minis will have a simple set up; Christmas Minis in December will have full décor with Christmas trees, rugs, pillows etc.
Details: For the first time ever, I am offering two different session lengths. The timeline below shows the options, with the 15 minute slots earlier in the afternoon and 20 minute slots later. 15 minute sessions are going to be perfect for immediate families with kids who listen and take direction well. 20 minute sessions are going to be ideal for larger families, families with children who need a few minutes to warm up, or families who want to bring along other families members *hint hint – grandmas love being included in these!*
As always, all sessions include unlimited images that we can capture during our time together in both color and black & white and will be delivered via digital download. All images will be returned by May 7, just in time to share with friends and family before Mother’s Day.

Pandemic babies but make it times two! These brothers, both born during these crazy COVID times, are just about the cutest duo ever and have the cutest names ever. I don’t share names of my clients in blog posts but trust me, they are too cute. We had this in-home newborn photography session last weekend and the bright sun and clear skies cooperated perfectly. I’m sure mom and dad can’t wait to watch their bond grow as these brothers get older.
